| Mothusi
Kebusitswe is a Maun local, who spent much of his childhood
days at Sepupa, a fishing village on the panhandle of the
Okavango Delta. Mothusi has 4 sisters, and comes from the
Bayei tribe who still believe in totems, and are very superstitious
but most have converted to Christianity. His name means “helper”.
Mothusi's interests and hobbies include travelling, music
(classic rock) board games and photography. He's been to Zambia,
Zimbabwe and South Africa. Mothusi's career in photography
started at school doing portraits for fellow students. He
was given a full range of Olympus camera gear and accessories
from a guest at Kwando Lagoon camp – which really fired
up his interests. He subsequently bought a second hand Canon
50 E camera body plus 28 – 80 mm wide-angle lens from
Prolab in Pretoria. He later purchased an expensive and state
of the art 100 – 400 mm Canon IS lens from America.
Mothusi won a first prize in the Wildlife Portraits section
in 2001, and sadly missed the cut-off date for 2002. Mothusi's
ambition is “to see the outside world before getting
too old!” He visited Sabi Sabi as well to broaden his
outlook and knowledge of the guiding profession. He has guided
for mobile safaris and lodges since 1998, he currently guides
at Kwando's Kwara camp in the Okavango Delta. His sunny personality
and broad smile make him a guest favourite. He is the ideal
guide for people interested in photography.
