| John MynhardtHunters Africa (Botswana) (Pty) Ltd, had in the interim been acquired by Botswana citizen and prominent businessman - John Mynhardt. John and his brother Louis had a deep appreciation for the wilderness regions and were concerned to see that these far corners of Botswana remained as wild as they remembered form their childhood camping safaris with their family.John and his wife Janie recognized the special place that the wilderness occupied in their lives and wished to ensure its future by sharing it in an intimate way with the guests at the Kwando camps. To this day John, Janie and their three children continue to enjoy the wilderness of Kwando as often as possible.John, having joined his mother as a "fresh out of university" graduate, in 1967, developed her single trading store in Francistown into one of Botswana's largest locally owned companies. The Cash Bazaar Holdings group now employs almost 2 000 people in some 200 premises throughout Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and South Africa.The group is primarily a retailer of clothing, footwear and furniture but also operates extensively in the fields of property development, tourism, construction supply and manufacture. One of John's companies, Furniture Mart, was listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange in Dec '98.John and Janie have 3 children - 2 sons and a daughter. Janie grew up in Zimbabwe. John is Chairman of Kwando.

| | | Non-executive Directors ...Fact Lebala, a director of the Cash Bazaar Holdings Group together with Loius Mynhardt are non-executive directors of the company. Fact rose up through the ranks of the Botswana Police before joining John at the group level. He deals with a wide portfolio of tasks including facilitation and liaison with the government and tribal bodies. It is pure co-incidence that the Lebala camp bears the same name as Fact! Fact lives in Gaborone.
Louis Mynhardt has been involved in tourism for many years now and is managing director of the Chobe Fish Eagle group. This group includes the Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane, Nata Lodge and the Tamafupa concession between Nata and Kasane. Louis used to pilot planes for regional airlines in Southern Africa and the United States in his earlier years. He now lives in Francistown. |
